Paradise Beach, originally known as Full Moon Beach, gained popularity in the 1970s and 1980s as a haven for hippies and backpackers. Its secluded location and natural beauty attracted travelers seeking an escape from the more commercialized beaches. Over time, the beach has become more accessible, but it still retains its laid-back charm. The name "Paradise" reflects the idyllic setting and the sense of tranquility it offers. While development has been limited, a few shacks have emerged to cater to visitors' needs. The beach's history is intertwined with the overall development of Gokarna as a tourist destination, evolving from a quiet pilgrimage town to a sought-after beach destination.
Nice small beach. It's bit difficult to reach there as there is no proper road till paradise beach trail starting point. Once you reach trail start point there is 20-25 min good treking till beach. At the end of trek, on one side is small hell beach and on other side paradise beach.
Excellent beach with no rubbish, great waves. Trek is a little tricky but manageable. Waves are friendly and you can stand in the water
Butterfly Beach and Half Moon Beach can only be reached by boat or by trekking through the cliff. We took a boat from Om Beach to visit those. Being in between the cliffs, both are very beautiful. There was some tent-type accommodation visible on these beaches, too.
This beach is quite secluded from other ones , we trekked all the way to get here . Had kokum juice and enjoyed the sun.
