History
Chembra Peak's history is intertwined with the local tribes and the surrounding forests. The Wayanad district, where Chembra is located, has been inhabited for centuries, with evidence of human settlements dating back to the Neolithic age. Chemra re opened after 8 months and the main thing is for 5 no of persons now they are charging 4000(5 nos), additional 800rs. always start the day with chembra trekking coz ticket time starts from 7 am . No food is available.always take snacks. If u start at 7 then it can be completed before 10. Keep in mind Lot of stamina is required. Moderate/high level trekking . As on 28/10/24 the maximum allowed nos are 88 per day due to restrictions.
Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad District of Kerala , it's a part of Western Ghats Mountain Ranges. It's a beautiful and perfect trekking spot in Wayanad. It's a must visit place for all trek lovers. the trek is not too easy but will be worth the effort at the end.The view is so delightful and give you chills literally. their is the heart shape lake.its situated in Meppadi, It involves lot of trek here to see this peak.Be sure to have nice shoes which wont have mud stuck inside.Its rainy here and also lot of leeches.Take salt to get rid of leeches. Try to avoid going in the monsoon season as it may be shutdowned.
Great experience, it’s about 3km trekking with friends it’s lot of fun early morning around 6am it will open reach before 5:30am, there is fee for trekking but the road, ghats and trek worthy enough to experience
A must visit! Wayanad trip cannot be complete without chembra trek. You need to reach to forest office to get ticket. Limited people are allowed to trek therefore it's important to reach early. Forest office is 4-5 km far from the trekking base. Medium difficulty trek, as you reach the top, view is breathtaking!
