History
Pathani Samanta Planetarium was established in 1990 in memory of the renowned astronomer Pathani Samanta, who was born in Odisha. It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, V. P. Singh. The planetarium was set up with the aim of popularizing science and astronomy among the masses, particularly students. Over the years, it has become a prominent center for scientific education and outreach programs, attracting visitors from all over the country.
