Built in 1354 by Rao Bar Singh, Taragarh Fort served as a strategic stronghold for the Chauhan Rajputs. It witnessed numerous battles and sieges throughout its history. The fort's formidable defenses, including its thick walls and strategically placed bastions, proved challenging for invaders. Mughal armies attempted to conquer the fort, but it largely remained under Rajput control. Over time, neglect and lack of maintenance have taken their toll on the structure. However, efforts are underway to preserve and restore this historical landmark, ensuring that its legacy endures for future generations. The Miran Saheb ki Dargah within the fort commemorates a governor who died in battle.
