    History

Originally built by the Paramara King Bhoj in the 11th century, the Sammidheshwar Temple was initially dedicated to Lord Vishnu and known as the Tribhuvan Narayan Temple. In the 15th century, Rana Kumbha of the Mewar dynasty renovated and expanded the temple, rededicating it to Lord Shiva. He added a three-headed image of Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu, symbolizing the unity of the Hindu trinity. The temple has witnessed numerous historical events, including sieges and battles, and stands as a resilient symbol of Chittorgarh's enduring spirit. Its architectural evolution reflects the changing dynasties and their artistic contributions, making it a significant historical landmark within the fort.
