Guru Granth Sahib
Takht Sri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda district, Punjab) is the fifth and youngest of the five Sikh Takhts (seats of religious authority). It was here that Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, rested for nine months in 1706 CE after the Battle of Muktsar. During this period, he compiled the Guru Granth Sahib in its complete final form — adding the compositions of Guru Tegh Bahadur — making Damdama Sahib the 'Guru Ki Kashi' (the Kashi of Sikh scholars). The complex today includes the main Gurdwara, a historical well, and a museum.
Guru Gobind Singh came to Talwandi Sabo in 1706 after the battles of Muktsar. During his 9-month stay, over 600 disciples completed the learning of Gurbani (Sikh scripture). The site was declared a Takht in 1966, though historically it held that status since Guru Gobind Singh's time.
