Guru Gobind Singh (birthplace)
Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib is one of the five Takhts (seats of authority) in Sikhism and marks the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh in 1666. The present domed gurdwara, built in white marble, preserves relics of the tenth Guru including a cradle, sword and sacred articles. Langar runs through the day and the sarai offers accommodation to pilgrims.
Guru Gobind Singh was born here as Gobind Rai and spent his early childhood in Patna before moving to Anandpur. The shrine was later reconstructed with the support of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
