Prior to its transformation, the area now known as Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park was a neglected and overgrown wasteland, dominated by the invasive 'baavlia' shrub. In 2006, a dedicated team of ecologists and conservationists initiated a remarkable ecological restoration project. The invasive species were painstakingly removed, and native desert plants, carefully selected and nurtured, were reintroduced to the landscape.
