About Badrinath Temple
Badrinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated at 3,300 m along the Alaknanda river. The self-manifested Shaligram idol of Badrinarayan is worshipped here. Tapt Kund hot spring bath before darshan is customary.
Established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century as one of the four cardinal dhams.
