Aath Haveli, like many havelis in Nawalgarh, was constructed in the 19th century by wealthy Marwari merchants who prospered through trade. These merchants sought to showcase their wealth and status by commissioning elaborate havelis adorned with intricate frescoes. Aath Haveli's eight courtyards reflect the family's size and prosperity, with each section potentially housing a different branch of the family. The paintings served not only as decoration but also as a record of their lives, beliefs, and the world around them. Over time, with the decline of traditional trade routes and the migration of families to larger cities, many havelis fell into disrepair. However, Aath Haveli has been preserved, allowing visitors to appreciate the artistry and history of this bygone era.
