Palolem, once a sleepy fishing village, gradually transformed into a popular tourist destination. While its exact historical records are limited, its growth is linked to the rise of tourism in Goa. Originally inhabited by local fishing communities, Palolem began attracting travelers seeking a quieter alternative to the busier beaches of North Goa. Its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere played a significant role in its development. Over time, beach huts and shacks emerged, catering to the growing number of visitors. Despite the increasing popularity, Palolem has managed to retain much of its original charm and continues to offer a peaceful escape.
Very south of Goa, this beach is less crowded with tourists, however we found the sand too muddy, darker in color hence did not feel very pristine. Parking is also costly with 140 for a car, seemed to be higher than rest of the beaches in Goa
One of the beautiful beaches in South Goa. Peaceful beach with clean water and amazing scenery. Highly recommend if you want to stay away from loud music, crowd and chaos compared to North Goa. This is the place to go with your dear ones and have a peaceful holiday.
Nice view, lots of restaurants nearby, missed water activity and boat ride to butterfly beach due to the off season .
Peaceful beach with clean water and amazing scenery to enjoy with family. Highly recommend if you want to stay away from loud music, crowd and chaos compared to North Goa. This is the place to go and have a peaceful holiday.
